Dr. Nenshi earned a Diplomate degree from the American Chiropractic Neurology Board (ACNB) in 2014. Since then, the application of clinical neuroscience and neurological rehabilitation, what we call Neuro Health, have become an integral part of her practice, especially when serving patients with brain and spine injuries.
As a practicing chiropractor in Alberta with special interest in brain function and plasticity, Dr. Nenshiβs uses safe and effective methods for promoting functional health of the bodyβs complex community of cells, organs, tissues and systems. Our senses, namely vision, taste, smell, sound, touch, proprioception, movement, gravity and balance, all offer valuable information about how your brain and nervous system are working. Once a diagnosis is obtained, Dr. Nenshi will use an integrated whole brain-body approach to remove stress and increase function in your nervous system. A healthy brain and nervous system are essential for energy, health and vitality.
Book a free consultationBrain based research studies show the brain has plasticity, a term meaning our neurons can adapt to changes in their environment and can grow. Neuro Health and Neuro Rehabilitation is the application of various therapies that aim to enhance nervous system function. Using our senses (vision, taste, smell, sound, touch, proprioception, movement, gravity and balance) and movement, these applications aim to stimulate receptors that in turn impact the brain and nerve system pathways that control the function of the bodyβs complex community of cells, organs, tissues and systems.
No. Our care is not intended to be an alternative to treatment by a medical neurologist. Our services are complementary to medical care.
We encourage close collaboration with numerous medical providers including neurologists, neurosurgeons, physiatrists, internists, and primary care providers, and in many circumstances we require you to be under medical care in order for us to take your case.
No. We cannot cure neurological diseases, or change the ultimate outcome for someone with a neurodegenerative condition. We treat people, not their diseases.
Our care is not designed to fix incurable conditions. Rather, our care is designed to improve function in the parts of the nervous system that still work in order to promote the best possible quality of life for our patients.
When you develop a neurodegenerative disorder, some nerve cells are unfortunately lost, and some pathways in the nervous system are irreparably damaged. There is nothing we can do to change that.
However, when you have such a condition, we can often find ways to influence the remaining working parts of the nervous system that still are healthy and precisely stimulate and exercise them, to make them more efficient, increase their endurance, and improve your ability to function in the world.
No. Our Neuro Health Examinations are very detailed and assess function of the central and peripheral nervous systems. Baseline neurological assessments are valuable for healthy adults and children, especially for those with active lifestyles and athletes who want a competitive edge. In addition should you be involved with an injury (car accident, head trauma, etc.) your post-injury examination findings can be compared with your baseline data, yielding valuable information about the areas that need to be retrained for recovery.

Chronic Pain
Do you know what the secret is to helping people with chronic pain? Don't treat the pain!
People have pain in all different areas of the body but donβt find relief because they are treating the symptom of a neurological problem. Chronic pain occurs as a result of constant firing of all the nervous system communication networks that send pain signals up into the brain. Chronic pain is often a perception of what is going on in your body. There are technologies in our office we use to help train the brain and nervous system to focus on energy, strength and other sensory perceptions that don't involve pain. If you're suffering from chronic pain, give us a call and let's talk about where your pain is, then we'll find out what we can do about it together.
Our in-depth examination procedures work to quickly and accurately identify the relationship between how your body is functioning and your symptoms.
Our custom programs address the whole person and are geared to meet your health goals, be it symptom relief, corrective care or wellness care.
Neuropathy
Neuropathy is severe nerve pain that occurs as a result of the nerves degenerating and not working properly. Perhaps there's damage to the nerve or perhaps there is a stress, trauma or toxicity issue that is influencing how well the nerve is able to communicate signals in the body. Neuropathy is not a standalone condition, but a symptom that arises due to an underlying problem. The key to treating it is identifying the root cause, which could be related to how well the nervous system networks communicate signals to the brain and whether the brain is able to accurately perceive these signals to understand what is happening in the body. If you want more information about neuropathy and what we can do to help you please don't hesitate to call.
We strive towards excellence in education and health services in order to provide the highest standard of care for our patients, their families and our community.
Our goal is to improve the quality of life of every patient we touch.
Our commitment is to honest and ethical care!
Book NowI've always believed that healing comes from within, and all we need to do is get stress out of the way so the brain and body can do what they are designed to do. It's possible to live long, healthy and productive lives of contribution, and not be a burden on society as we age. In fact, I believe we can biologically live much younger than our chronological age, and this is possible when we look after and nurture the communication systems in the body, namely the brain, spinal cord and the delicate nerves that electrically control every function in the body. - Dr. Alma Nenshi, B.Sc., D.C.
Dr. Nenshi, took a lot of time to get to know and understand my issues. She made me feel comfortable even though it was hard to describe, she understood and was able to diagnose and start the appropriate treatments. So far the pain is significantly reduced and I am on my way to full relief.
What an amazing experience with Dr. Nenshi. The work she does is outstanding, and was exactly what I was needing. I have suffered for 13+ with constant headaches, neck and shoulder stiffness with pain. I have tried all kinds of therapeutic remedies. I am so pleased with the service and progress I have had in just a few weeks. I highly recommend Dr. Nenshi, her general medical knowledge along with her experience in chiropractic medicine and frequency specific microcurrent is immensely valuable. Highly recommended!
My first time with Dr. Nenshi, my shoulder all the way to my head pain has gone away in just 3 visits I had with her. I feel very comfortable and she is very welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend her.
Dr. Nenshi is amazing! She is very knowledgeable and takes time to listen and follows with appropriate treatment. My husband and I travelled from out of province to her clinic and she went above and beyond to accomodate us in the few days we stayed in Calgary. I also bought an FSM machine from her to use at home on which she programs specific treatments suited to our needs. Recently, I used it when my daughter had 4 wisdom teeth surgically removed. I couldn't believe it; almost no swelling, no bleeding or bruising and minimal pain!! I am happy to have met Dr. Nenshi and encourage others to do the same.
Dr. Nenshi has been invaluable during my pregnancy and postpartum journey, as well as treating my little baby girl. During pregnancy, she was able to help with low back and pelvis/hip pain, which significantly improved my quality of life during those last months. Postpartum she has been incredibly helpful with the aches and pains I have had due to breastfeeding, as well as improving the actual process of breastfeeding by waking up my nervous system. In regards to my newborn, she was able to help with some serious gas and digestion problems - which improved her mood and sleep tremendously! While treating her for those pesky tummy problems, she also noticed that she was favouring turning her neck to the left side and struggling with turning to the right. She was able to fix that as well, before it turned into more serious problems. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Nenshi for almost all pains during your prenatal, postnatal and newborn journey :). She gives great care to her patients (young and old), and can usually see you with short notice. She is now seeing multiple members of my family.
