Meet Dr. Nenshi

My Story

I first became introduced to chiropractic care when I was 12 years old and suffering with what I now know to be childhood migraines. These headaches were so severe that I used to crawl into bed, window shades down, covers over my head and pressing ear-muffs over my ears praying these would drown out the pounding feeling I had in my head.

Of course as a child I didn’t realize this was a concern and thought these headaches happened to everyone. My parents consulted my pediatrician who immediately prescribed a variety of tests and appointments with numerous specialists, all who failed to diagnose the cause of my headaches. In the end my pediatrician told my parents that nothing was wrong, that the problem was all in my head and that I was probably using headaches as an excuse to not do my homework.

Luckily one day I accompanied my father to one of his regular chiropractic appointments. The doctor took one look at me and knew I was suffering. He offered to do a complete history and examination, and what he found was surprising.

I had several areas of stress in my spine (subluxations) that could have stemmed from micro-traumas from childhood falls and exacerbated with a minor motor vehicle accident that occurred several years prior. He explained that these stresses reduce how well the brain is able to control the body and unless corrected, they lead to symptoms which in my case were my headaches. The doctor then recommended we remove these stresses on the nervous system in order to facilitate better communication between the brain and the body and that would enable me to regain control and heal my headaches all on my own without medications or surgery. His treatment for this was a chiropractic adjustment.

Well since I had nothing to lose and no other options, we decided to give it a try. My first adjustment is one I will remember and appreciate for the rest of my life. I felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulders as that one gentle movement cured me of my childhood migraines. It was the result of this healing miracle that, at the age of 12, I made it my life’s goal to become a chiropractor, to help people recognize the healing potential within them the same way Dr. MacKay helped me recognize it in me.

My Philosophy

As I write this story I reflect on the assumptions my family had about health. We thought if we looked good and felt good then we were healthy. That if we ate well, slept well and were happy we were healthy. And if we managed stress well, had supportive social networks and didn’t smoke or drink we were healthy. But the reality is many of the leading causes of death in our society take years if not decades to develop, and when people find out it’s often too late. Think of heart disease, cancer and diabetes – you don’t feel your arteries thickening, the cancer growing or the hormonal imbalances until years later when you get your first symptom.

Now some 30 years later I still shake my head thinking about my experience and wonder how many others are frustrated with a symptom or a health concern and are told there is nothing wrong because their lab work is normal or their imaging studies are clear? They know there is something functionally wrong but it has not progressed enough to show up on diagnostic tests. But their body’s innate wisdom is giving them clues that something is off balance. The warning sign may be a bit of pain here, a digestive problem there, low energy, poor sleep, numbness, hormone imbalance, pain… you name your symptom.

So I ask when is it alright to ignore your inner voice and accept nothing is wrong just because you can’t verify it on a test? When is it ok to have stress on your delicate communication pathways reducing your ability to send messages from your brain to every single cell, tissue, organ and system in your body thereby reducing their overall function? And when is it ok to slow or restrict the feedback from the body back to the brain? Do you wait until it becomes serious or do you listen to your inner wisdom guiding you that something is out of sync and you are not living life to your full potential?

Do you think it’s possible to have 100% function of every part of your body?

Do you think you are capable of living your full potential?

And most importantly do you think you are worthy of living such a life?

The answer is YES!

There is no doctor smarter than you and no doctor that works harder than you to be healthy. You have the wisdom within to heal your body to perfection.

And maybe if you like, I can help you get started.

I have been to see Dr. Nenshi for two separate issues over the past 3 years. Both times she has taken the time to fully understand the problems, and really excelled at providing lasting resolution. With some other chiropractors I have found they ask you to return several times, which can make you feel like it's a revenue stream. Here, Dr Nenshi focuses on effective treatment and strives to limit the quantity of follow-ups based on true necessity. Would highly recommend.

Dr. Nenshi is a fantastic Chiropractor. I have had adjustments with her since 2009. She takes the time to listen to your concern and describes the treatment plan tailored to my specific needs. She has a holistic approach to wellness focusing not only on alleviating my pain but also on improving my overall health and mobility. She compliments the traditional spinal adjustments with neuropathy treatment, sensory training, fascia release to name a few. Each session tailored to target my problem areas and gradually restore alignment to my spine. I highly recommend Dr. Nenshi.

I've been visiting Dr. Nenshi for some time now, and I wanted to share my exceptional experience. From the outset, Dr. Nenshi's thorough approach to chiropractic care set a new standard for what I expect from healthcare professionals. Unlike any chiropractor I've been to before, she delves deep into the intricacies of how our bodies function, with a keen focus on the brain and neurological connections. This unique approach has enlightened me to several health aspects I was previously unaware of, enhancing my overall well-being in ways I hadn't imagined. What truly sets Dr. Nenshi apart is her holistic view towards treatment, emphasizing not just the physical adjustments but also how neurological health plays a crucial role in our physical state. It's refreshing to see a practitioner so dedicated to ensuring all aspects of one's health are in harmony. Based on her recommendation, I purchased a specialized pillow from her selection. This was NOT an upsell but a game-changer for my sleeping habits and posture. It took a bit to get used to but the difference was noticeable almost immediately, improving not only the quality of my sleep but also my daily posture and comfort. Healthcare can often feel impersonal and rushed, Dr. Nenshi’s attentive and informed care is a rare find. Her dedication to her patients' holistic well-being, backed by her innovative approach focusing on the brain-neuro connection, truly places her in a league of her own. If you're seeking chiropractic care that goes beyond the conventional to offer comprehensive, personalized treatment, look no further than Dr. Nenshi. My experience has been nothing short of transformative, and I cannot recommend her enough.

I have been seeing Dr Nenshi for a couple of months for a nerve issue and numb pinky finger. She is a very caring practitioner who genuinely wants her patients to feel better. She has many tools to use to see which one will work for your case. ARP wave is a little more expensive but worth a try as it helps a lot of people with their pain. I would highly recommend her practice especially if you feel like you have tried everything as she has helped a lot of people with their issues including me. Thank you Dr Nenshi!
